Les and Matt won doubles last night with a one stroke victory over Craig and Phil. The aces continue to come fast and furious, as Kokko aced 10 for the second time this season to take the $18 that was in the acepot.

We have found what we think is the ideal site for a new course in Pemberton. Just a few more hoops to jump through regarding Crown Land, but it looks like construction should start late this year, or first thing in the spring. On a related note, it looks like people have been trying to play the old course lately. The Mt. Currie First Nation has asked us to steer people away from the old course, as it is situated on culturally and archaeologically sensitive land. Thanks for your cooperation.

We had ten people out for doubles last night (11 if you include the bear that hung out while we played hole 8 and 9), with Bruce and Todd winning the night with a -18. Matt W threw a great skip ace on 14 that won him the $66 acepot.

It looks like Whistler is going to be the first stop in the 2011/12 Duck Golf Series, with the event tentatively being held October 1. Check the site in the next few weeks for confirmation.

The Copper Ridge Classic had been changed to the Labour Day weekend (Sept. 3-4). It’s a great tournament and a great course. Here is a promo vid filmed at the course by our good friends at the Kamloops Disc Golf Club.

Lots has happened since the last post. Steve D.won the big acepot of the summer worth nearly $100 with an ace on 8. Shawn and Steve S. aced the following week, and had to split the $20 acepot. We have had no aces for two weeks, so the acepot is at $30.

Please be careful playing the blind holes on the course (especially hole 18), as someone was hit in the head with a disc last week and had to go to the hospital for stitches. Make sure you are aware of who is on the hole ahead of you, and if you are unsure if anyone is there walk up and check.

Unfortunately, we have had reports of cars being broken into in the gravel lot. Please make sure you don’t leave any valuables in your car and report any suspicious activity to the RCMP.

Doubles continue on Tuesday night at 5:30. Meet at the first hole.
